Finally, a Fun and Simple Way to Reduce and Relieve Stress!
on Nov 18 in Latest News by adminWe all know how it feels to be stressed out. From news stories on crime, war, and social struggles, to the sounds from traffic, construction, and crowds, we encounter stress daily. Pile on a stressful job and a hectic lifestyle, and stress seems more pervasive and persistent than ever. You’ve probably tensed up just reading this! Sorry about that, let’s move on…
But first, realize that knowing how to relieve stress is extremely important to your health and well-being. Then, we can begin to focus on reducing the stress in our lives before stress gets the best of us.
In my personal experience, the best answer for stress is a good work out. It’s the most constructive way to redirect that negative energy. You can do one or more types of exercise, the key is to find something that suits you, and of course, to enjoy what you are doing. Here are a few examples of what I mean:
KickBoxing Training
Kickboxing, along with other martial arts, is a fun way to exert a lot of energy. You’re entire body becomes engaged, and as a result, your entire body benefits. Training with a heavy bag, whether it’s at the gym or at home, provides an amazing workout, and requires both concentration and practice. Once you get the hang of it, you can fine tune your moves, while leaving your troubles behind. See the Century Body Opponent Bag (BOB) in action:
Aside from the sheer fun of hitting something, martial arts involve discipline, a mental focus and emphasis on breathing techniques. These are all things that can help you have more control over yourself, and hence, more control over how you deal with stress.
Yoga Classes
Another great exercise to partake in is a Yoga class. Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice, that incorporates discipline, mental focus and breathing techniques. Its aim is the attainment of a state of perfect spiritual insight and tranquility. Thus, yoga inherently causes you to relax. So try it! It’s highly recommended.
Going for a Run
Going for a run is my personal favorite way to bring up the heart rate and work up a good sweat. I believe it’s also a good outlet to clear your mind, as it can give you time to think and sort out your problems. Aside from that, it presents you with that fun personal challenge of making a new time or distance.
What’s also great is that you can always add variety to your run to keep things interesting and challenging. If you are outdoors, you can take a new route, where you’ll encounter slopes, and different surfaces. If you are indoors, running on a treadmill can also provide variety. You just need a treadmill that has features such as programs, incline and variable speeds.
Those are just three of my personal favorite ways to exercise. But as you can see, they vary quite a bit in technique and method. And, of course, these are not the only ways that you can work out. Like I said, it’s important to find something that you consider fun, because that will help you stick with it. What they all have in common though, is their ability to quickly help you forget about a tough day and relieve some stress, so that you can continue on with your life, in peace.
